have had similar experiences recently, we venture to bring the

matter to your attention.

The details of the shipments which we have received are

as follows:-

20 tons "Zuiderkerk"

Hong-Kong assay: 99.1% English

: 98.88%

15 tons "Fushima Maru" Hong-Kong assay : 99.05%

English

: 98.84%

The Assay Certificates, which we are keeping here and which will

be sent to you if you so desire, were furnished by-

Mr.D.G.Glenn Allen, .A., A.I.C., Successor to r. A.C.Franklin,

F.I.C., 13/17, Percival Street, Hong-Kong. As we understand

that this firm is doing Government assays, and as in any case

Tin is quite an easy metal both to sample and to analyse, we are

at a loss to understand the discrepancies.

The opinion strongly exists that the whole question

should be thoroughly investigated locally, and for this reason we

are approaching you to ask if you can help us to this end.

Yours faithfully
